Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia (PENYAYANG) will be organising the Batik Fun Walk on Sunday, 22 October 2023 at Lanai, Malaysia Tourism Center, Kuala Lumpur (MaTiC). Strategic partners in the initiative which could excite delegates in town, are the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and Malaysia Tourism Center (MaTiC). The event aims to promote batik as national heritage and the use of batik as daily wear. The Batik Fun Walk 2023 activities include fitness challenges, entertainment, quizzes and lucky draws. The walk starts and ends at Lanai, Malaysian Tourism Center (MaTiC), taking participants through Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak, Jalan P.Ramlee, Jalan Pinang, Persiaran Petronas and then enter Jalan Ampang and head back to MaTiC, having covered a distance of 3.8km. A participation fee of RM 45 for adults will be sent as a donation to Cancer Support Group, which provides services and assistance to cancer patients at Putrajaya Hospital, the National Cancer Institute and Seri Kembangan. The event will also have prizes for the largest group of contestants, the group most creatively dressed in Batik, among other categories.
