A new survey by BCD Travel has revealed the most important factors for those booking travel trips.
The survey, conducted in April, asked 101 travel buyers questions about their priorities when it comes to booking. These were then aggregated into a score out of 5.
‘Duty of care’ and ‘traveller satisfaction’ were the highest rated, with 99% of people rating them as very to extremely important. ‘Duty of care’ was the most important factor for those booking travel in 2021, with a score of 4.7/5.
Other priorities, including policy compliance, savings, data analytics, supplier management, and payment & expense management, experienced dips in importance during the past year, but are gradually recovering.
Sustainability has returned to its pre-pandemic level of 3.7/5, after dropping as low as 2.9/5 last year. ‘Savings and cost control’ also rose in importance following a slump in 2020.
