New Zealand may have sealed itself off for the rest of the year for inbound travellers but its CVB, Business Events Wellington is looking to the future to help those still planning a conference or event in the capital city. It has published a news Business Events Guide with updated information about Wellington’s array of venues, event services and accommodation options, as well attractions and incentive activities. Although premier Jacinda Ahern has said an elimination strategy is the best way to keep Covid-19 out and the New Zealand economy open, the hope is that the country can move to a quarantine-free travel from the start of 2022. Meanwhile, the new Wellington events guide can at least whet the travel and incentives appetite with a fresh list of must-do experiences. WellingtonNZ general manager David Perks says despite the challenging year for the business events industry, it was encouraging to see 22% of all business events that took place in New Zealand were in Wellington. Business Events Wellington is the official convention bureau for the Wellington region and a business unit of WellingtonNZ.
