New CEO announced in Australia for Victoria’s peak tourism and events body

Australia’s peak body for tourism and events in Victoria state, VTIC has announced Lisa Patroni as its new chief executive officer, commencing 11 August 2025. She steps into the role filled for seven years by Felicia Mariani.

A long-standing VTIC member and former Board director, Patroni has experience across both government and private enterprise and is widely respected for her strategic leadership, marketing expertise ad effective advocacy. In her most recent role as executive director, visitor experience at Parks Victoria, she demonstrated strong strategic foresight and passionate advocacy.

Previous roles at the Victoria Racing Club, Peter Rowland Catering, Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau and Hilton Hotels testify to a deep knowledge of the visitor economy.

Reflecting on her new role, Patroni said: “VTIC has long been a cornerstone of Victoria’s visitor economy, and I’m deeply honoured to be appointed into the role of CEO. I’m committed to building on the strong legacy of Felicia Mariani and the dedicated VTIC team. Together with our passionate members, valued partners, and the exceptional staff and board, I’m excited to help shape a vibrant and resilient future for our sector.”

VTIC chair Scott Chapman welcomed the appointment: “We are thrilled to have Lisa stepping into the role of CEO. She brings not only deep industry knowledge and trusted relationships, but also a powerful voice that will continue to represent our sector with clarity and conviction. The Board is confident in her ability to guide VTIC and our members through the opportunities and challenges ahead.

“VTIC also acknowledges the enormous contribution of outgoing CEO Felicia Mariani, who has led the organisation with distinction over the past seven years.”
