The Slovenian Convention Bureau has announced Tadeja Pivc-Coudyser as its new director. She took over the role, 1 September, from Miha Kovačič, who has led the bureau for 16 years.
Pivc-Coudyser is no stranger to the industry, having been in charge of International Sales at the Hague Convention Bureau from 2016 onwards. She also helped drive the Hybrid City Alliance project and has been ICCA France Benelux Chapter chairperson, as well as being responsible for events within the organisation.
Pivc-Coudyser has also had stints working for the PCO agency Kenes and the DMC agency Cox & Kings Holidaybreak Ltd.
The Slovenian events industry is expecting a new national creative marketing platform and support to help the country reach its full social and economic potential.
Kovačič, who has worked with limited resources over the year and who was instrumental in the launch of the Conventa trade show, said it was “great to pass on the relay to someone with international knowledge and experience of the meetings and incentive industry and familiar with our product”.
Pivc-Coudyser said of her appointment: “I am excited to bring my know-how and also learn from the Slovenian industry. I have always been following what Slovenian Convention Bureau is doing from a distance, and I saw some incredible things.. and in 13 years, a lot has changed. I am excited to work for my home country, promoting it in the international waters. I am proud of our little piece of land in Europe, which is so diverse and offers so much. I think many know about the beauty of Slovenia, from mountains, lakes to the sea. Incentive product is strong, so I see an opportunity also to strengthen the business events part, as we have excellent infrastructure.”
