New head appointed at the Geneva Convention Bureau

The Geneva Tourism & Conventions Foundation has announced the appointment of Alain Pittet as its new head of the city’s Convention Bureau. He takes up the post on 1 April, 2022, with a main task of increasing the number of association conferences in Geneva.

Pittet has 29 years of experience in congress and event management, including 16 years at Swiss Exhibition. He has also served as managing director, member of the Board of Directors and partner of PCO Congrex Switzerland for almost nine years.

For the past four years, he has worked as executive director of international business development at the Italian PCO EGA worldwide congresses and events.

Pittet was also a Council Member of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) for five years. He is a native (Swiss) German speaker and is fluent in French, English and Italian.
