oneworld – one of the major alliance of airlines – has ranked as most punctual airline alliance for fifth year running, according to FlightGlobal Incorporating FlightStat. The airline industry data services and solutions technology company has acclaimed oneworld is the best alliance for on-time flights, with its FlightStats’ Airline Alliance On-Time Performance Service (OPS) Award for 2017. oneworld now claims six ‘Best airline alliance’ awards internationally.
FlightGlobal Incorporating FlightStats told CMW: “[The awards are] designed to recognise the hard work of the airlines that demonstrate consistently high performance and deliver on their promise to get passengers to their destinations on-time.”
Furthermore, oneworld member airlines were the most punctual in three of the five regions analysed by FlightGlobal’s FlightStats. Collectively, oneworld member airlines also achieved the best arrival punctuality in 2017. Serving over a thousand airports in 150-plus countries, oneworld carries some 530m passengers annually on a combined fleet of 3,500 aircraft and generates US$125bn in annual revenues. CMW touched base with oneworld vice-president Michael Blunt to discover that “oneworld aims to be the first choice alliance for frequent international travellers”. Blunt added: “We and our member airlines know just how important it is to these customers in particular that flights depart and arrive on time, so it is great that our on-time performance has been confirmed for the fifth year running as the best by FlightStats’ independent report.”
