Malaysia has been unanimously chosen as the host for Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO) 2021. The congress will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, 4–7 March 2021.

Held annually, the APAO Congress is the largest ophthalmology conference in the Asia Pacific region.

The winning bid was presented at a meeting in Hong Kong on 11 February jointly by MyCEB and MSO.

A total of 4,500 delegates are expected in KL during the four-day congress, which annual attracts top eye doctors from all over the world.

“We are thrilled to form a strong partnership with MSO to host this engaging and important congress,” said MyCEB CEO Datuk Zulkefli Hj. Sharif, who noted that APAO 2021 is projected give a RM67.9m boost to the Malaysian economy, while maximising Malaysia’s growth potential as a knowledge and creative economy.
