Opus Agency has named Erica Seo senior vice-president, ASEAN. Based in Singapore, she will lead team operations and commercial performance, working to help global and regional brands expand their event portfolios across Southeast Asia.

Together with Charles Turner, senior vice-president, ANZ, Seo will lead Opus Agency’s business across APAC. Turner is based in Sydney, and both report directly to Opus Agency president Dena Lowery.

Seo joins from Spalba, where she served as business head, APAC. Previously, she led business strategy across APAC at George P. Johnson and served as managing director of GPJ Korea. Earlier, she ran operations at QX, Quintessentially’s brand experience agency.

“Brands across this region move fast, and the ones that connect build real relationships with their audiences in every market,” said Seo. “Opus Agency has the global reach and an experienced team in place. My focus is bringing my relationships and expertise into that and growing what we do for clients across Southeast Asia.”

Opus Agency’s experience in the region includes working with AWS to deliver AWS Summit ASEAN across Singapore, Bangkok, and Jakarta for more than 16,000 attendees. Salesforce and Opus Agency have partnered for more than two decades, including World Tour programmes in Sydney, Tokyo, London, and Paris. Regional client relationships also include UBS and Red Hat.

“Our clients’ event portfolios are becoming more connected and more global, and we see more of that investment moving to APAC,” said president Dena Lowery. “A brand scaling into Singapore, Jakarta, or Sydney wants the same connected team and the same understanding of its business it has in every other market, working with people who know those cities and the suppliers in them. That is how we operate. The fastest-growing cities in the world are spread across this region, and the brands moving into them now are building relationships that their competitors spend years catching up to. With Erica leading our ASEAN growth, we are even better positioned to deliver that local expertise on a global scale.”

Opus Agency operates from hubs across the United States and in London, Sydney, and Singapore.
