PCMA EMEA’s regional director, Jaime Bennett, has revealed that the association is set to break its pre-pandemic records for the greatest number of participants gathering in Europe. From 28 – 30 September, almost 400 business event professionals from 31 countries will meet for PCMA’s Convening EMEA at Meeting Destination Vienna. Convening EMEA is an omnichannel event targeted at business event professionals in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), which aims to bring together experts from the corporate and association sectors in a variety of fields. Under the event’s theme of “Together we move forward”, the programme will include content, panel discussions, workshops, and case studies in Vienna’s Messe Wien Congress and Exhibition Centre. The content will be focused on key topics of the future, engagement, and planning, coupled with a curated offsite exploration afternoon and social programme. Participants will also be able to attend a series of educational workshops delivered by experts in their relative disciplines, and “Exploration Tours”, which will provide participants with insights into lesser-known facets of Vienna. The event’s keynote sessions include Gerd Leonhard, a renowned futurist and humanist, Colleen Bisconti, vice president of events and experiences with IBM, and planning experts Patrick van der Pijl and Niki Seelan from Business Models Inc. PCMA EMEA has additionally revealed that the conference will be moderated by David Meade, an international corporate speaker, performer, and television personality. Bennett said: “Convening EMEA will create a platform for our entire industry where voices are heard, learnings are shared, and collaboration is the key to building a stronger future together.” “We are delighted with record numbers of participants and that we are now hosting a truly international audience in Vienna, a city that has evolved over centuries where tradition meets modernism, sustainability meets inclusivity.” PCMA has stated that the association has a commitment to sustainability, therefore they have ensured that Convening EMEA is a certified green event. This certification has been received as part of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings.
