The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has announced Roberta Kravitz (pictured), executive director of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), as the recipient of its 2017 Global Executive of the Year Award. The award, presented by Deborah Sexton, PCMA president and CEO, at the IMEX Gala Dinner, celebrates meeting executives who demonstrate a vision, commitment and passion for the advancement and education of the global meetings industry. This is the sixth consecutive year PCMA the award. Kravitz is a lifelong business events industry professional and was appointed executive director of ISMRM in May 2005. Throughout Kravitz’s tenure, ISMRM expanded its global reach by including the Asia/Pacific Rim region to its annual meeting rotation. The ISMRM annual meeting now rotates each year between Asia/Pacific Rim, East Americas, Europe, and Western Americas. Kravitz is an industry presenter at events both in her home continent of North America and globally. Additionally, she is a prolific writer of articles about the industry. Kravitz is also a current PCMA Education Foundation Board Trustee and served on the PCMA Board Directors 2013-2014. The Singapore Tourism Awards also nominated her for the 2017 Best Association Conference Organiser honour.
