PortAventura Business & Events appoints new director

PortAventura Business & Events has announced Malin Nilsson (pictured) as the division’s new director. With 22 years of experience in senior positions at national and international companies within the MICE sector, Nilsson comes to PortAventura Business & Events with a brief of boost the innovation and success of its convention centre.

Nilsson has held management and leadership positions linked to the sales and business development department for international brands including as CWT Meetings & Events, GBT (American Express), Atlanta Viajes and Barceló Business. She said of her appointment: “With my experience, knowledge, and vision of the sector both nationally and internationally, I will work to continue to drive and put PortAventura Business & Events on the map as a MICE destination”. 

In the coming months, PortAventura Convention Centre, which sits on Spain’s Costa Dorada, will be the venue for events related to egames and sports, as well as music and new technologies.

PortAventura Business & Events is the events division of PortAventura World. Its convention centre, with a capacity to simultaneously host more than 6,000 people, has 24 multi-functional rooms in its 20,000sqm of space. It has five 4-star hotels and one 5-star hotel with more than 2,350 rooms in total in the resort. Since its launch in 2009, PortAventura Convention Centre has hosted 2,200 events with a total of 720,000 attendees.
