Leaders of major global events companies will convene in Riyadh on 15-17 December for the International MICE Summit (IMS24). Joining them will be government and business leaders in Saudi Arabia and beyond, exploring investment opportunities in the Kingdom’s business events sector – one of the fastest-growing in the world. The summit will be hosted by the Saudi Conventions & Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA).
Headline speakers at the event include: Lord Carter, Group CEO of Informa PLC Brian Brittain, COO of RX Global, Stefan Rummel, CEO of Messe Munich Lisa Hannant, CEO of Clarion Events Wolfram Diener, CEO of Messe Dusseldorf
SCEGA also reports that the event will feature announcements from ten of the most prominent industry organisations. The topics covered will be centred around six basic themes, including talent and skill development, the economic impacts of MICE business models, borderless events and MICE sustainability practices.
“The Kingdom’s unique combination of giga-project investment, global marquee events and a surging tourism sector make the Kingdom a compelling destination for business tourism,” said His Excellency Fahd Al-Rasheed, chairman of SCEGA and host of IMS 24.
The MICE sector in Saudi Arabia expanded by 15% between 2022 and 2023, reaching almost 17,000 events last year. Over the next eight years, Saudi Arabia expects to see the number of business visitors increase 2.6 times from 3.1m in 2019 to 8m in 2030, attracted by events including the World Energy Congress, Future Investment Initiative, World Defense Show, Smart Cities Forum, the Future Aviation Forum and Expo 2030.
The three-day summit will take place at Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City (MISK) in Riyadh. To register, visit www.internationalmicesummit.com
