The Hiroshima Convention Visitors Bureau (HCVB) recently hosted a technical visit tour, showcasing the city’s unique high-tech experiences to international delegates.
The visit was an inspection tour of Hiroshima-based companies and institutions with advanced technologies, and gave delegates a unique opportunity to explore mutual benefits and collaboration between academia and industry.
The local Hiroshima CVB is putting the MICE sector at the centre of its efforts to bring business exchanges and create opportunities for innovations.
The tour visit was on the back of the international Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE) Annual Conference 2019 held in Hiroshima in September. The SICE conference rotates in Taiwan, China, Korea and Japan, being held once in four years in each area. This year 600 members including around 150 international delegates participated in the conference.
The technical tour took attendees to Robot Park Hiroshima run by SANKO DENGYO, where delegates were able to talk to AI engineers; Kumahira’s showroom and where they were shown cutting-edge security systems, and MAZDA Museum where they were able to visit the assembly lines and see the latest manufacturing technology. The latest Hiroshima culinary techniques were on display at Okonomi-Yaki.
