How did this Hamburg convention reach 15,000 pre-registrations?

More than 15,000 people have pre-registered for 2019’s Rotary International Convention in Hamburg. The event is one of the world’s most prestigious international congresses, and will take place from 1 – 5 June next year at Hamburg Messe. The large pre-registered numbers are the result of Hamburg’s Host Organisation Committee (HOC) announcing they were hosting next year’s event at the 2018 Rotary International Convention. More than 15,000 people registered for 2019 during the event. The 2019 Rotary International Convention will feature tours of the city – by bus, boat and on foot – and will take in sights including the new Elbphilharmonie concert hall, the Alster Lakes and the Beatles heritage of the St Pauli district. Michael Otremba, managing director of the Hamburg Convention Bureau, said: “I am very excited to see that even one year ahead of the event there is a very pronounced interest among our international audience. “This is fabulous, and it fills me with confidence that we might even exceed our ambitious target with regard to participant numbers. The Rotary International Convention is an event at a Champions League level that will attract international attention to Hamburg.” Andreas von Moller and Holger Knaack, co-chairs of the HOC, said: “The atmosphere on site [at Rotary 2018] was characterised by the international Rotarian’s anticipation and enthusiasm for Hamburg. We really look forward to 2019.”
