Sarawak, Malaysia, went ‘Down Under’ to gather over 500 senior managers at the recently held Associations Forum National Conference 2018 (AFNC 2018) at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia.
Led by the Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB), representatives of Sarawak bore the award-winning Redefining Global Tribes anthem to foster global community ties for a strong identity for the MICE sector.
Amelia Roziman, chief operating officer of SCB, said: “AFNC 2018 is congregation of passionate experts in advancing impactful change to their association members and their communities and in turn, creating a stronger awareness within the region.”
She continued: “The inclusivity of SCB’s campaign means we have to consistently harness our association partners around the world. Our Australasian counterparts – with whom we have always had a terrific relationship, plays an important role in building a stronger, diverse, and more productive global identity through business events.”
Under the Redefining Global Tribes campaign, Sarawak has attracted close to 90 Business Events in 2017.
It will also spur the state’s inaugural conference, the Business Events Tribal Meet (TriBE 2018), featuring six international thought leaders in a bid to create a generation of business events leaders – supercharged with tribal values, armed with digital tools – to leave impactful legacy outcomes.
