International corporate housing and serviced apartment specialists, SilverDoor has opened its first dedicated office in Shanghai, China.
The business has had a presence in China since 2017, during which time it built a property partner network, established local client relationships, and became one of the first serviced apartment providers to offer local Chinese invoicing capability.
The new office is located at Raffles City in Shanghai’s central business district and will serve both inbound and outbound corporate demand.
The scale of opportunity in China is supported by the business’s own data. SilverDoor’s Q2 2026 figures show China enquiries up year-on-year, with total reservations doubling over the same period. Demand is running in both directions, the agency reports.
Following the completion of its merger with Synergy Global Housing in 2025, SilverDoor now operates from 15 offices across four continents, serving clients in 143 countries. The Shanghai office is the first new office to open under the fully integrated business.
SilverDoor CEO Stuart Winstone said of this latest expansion: “We’ve been operating in China for a number of years and in that time, have built real knowledge of this market, genuine relationships with supply chain partners, and a track record of delivering for clients here. This office is the natural next step, at a moment when demand is accelerating and interest in this region is growing. For clients with people moving into or out of China, having a team on the ground who genuinely knows this market makes a real difference.”
The Shanghai team is led by Hana Huang and James Wills, both of whom bring extensive knowledge and experience of the Chinese market.
Hana Huang, supply chain manager, APAC, brings over a decade of experience in Shanghai’s corporate mobility and real estate sector, while James Wills, senior client services consultant, is both a returning SilverDoor colleague and a returning Shanghai resident, having spent more than five years living and working in the city, including as a senior recruiter with EF Education First. He previously served as senior recruitment specialist at SilverDoor, giving him a thorough understanding of how the business operates. As SilverDoor’s first dedicated client-facing hire in China, James will support clients and property partners across the region and contribute to business development and account management as the operation grows.
Hana and James are now actively expanding the team and are currently recruiting for new roles including a business development manager for the overall SilverDoor APAC region, headquartered in Singapore.
