Seven leading Czech personalities, who significantly contributed to the development of the meetings industry in Prague, were acknowledged across six categories at the 15th Ambassador Awards Evening on 29 April. The awards ceremony was held at the Residence of the Mayor of Prague.

Prague Convention Bureau (PCB), together with representatives of the City of Prague and the Ministry of Regional Development, awarded leading Czech scientists, professors, doctors and other leading experts for their merits in bringing important international events to the metropolis of Czechia.

Prague mayor Bohuslav Svoboda attended the award ceremony together with the envoy of the minister for regional development and tourism, PhDr. Stanislav Dvořák. The winners were selected by an independent 16-member committee consisting of representatives of tourism, meetings industry, academics and other representatives of the private and public spheres.

“This year’s Ambassador Awards evening has reconfirmed the key importance of professional congresses and conferences for the development of host destinations, and at the same time has shown how innovatively event organisation can be approached today – whether by engaging patient organisations, emphasising sustainability or connecting corporate and scientific spheres. I very much appreciate the fact that in the 15th year we were able to award six personalities… Their meetings and sharing of know-how contribute not only to the international prestige of the metropolis, but also to the further development of individual fields in the Czech Republic,” said Roman Muška, director of the Prague Convention Bureau
