Successful Data Centre World and AI Summit debut in Melbourne prompts 2027 return

Melbourne successfully hosted the inaugural Australian editions of Data Center World and the AI Summit, 7-9 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. It attracted thousands of industry leaders, innovators and decision-makers and organisers have confirmed the events will return to Melbourne in 2027. The debut events attracted 1,850 delegates and contributed $8.2m to the economy. There were keynote addresses from leaders from the Australian Department of Defence, Mercedes-Benz, DHL, and Amazon Web Services. There were also technical tours for delegates to see first-hand Victoria’s growing network of infrastructure. Melbourne Convention Bureau chief executive Julia Swanson said: “The success of Data Center World Australia and the AI Summit in 2026 demonstrated Melbourne’s ability to bring together global leaders, innovators and industry experts to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping our digital future.
