With a new convention centre opening in 2023 and a larger, internationally focused team, New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, will be represented by its convention bureau, Business Events Wellington at IMEX Frankfurt, 31 May-2 June, on the Tourism New Zealand stand (C300). The new convention centre, Tākina, meaning “to invoke” in te reo Māori, is located right in the heart of the city’s Central Business District, in walking distance of the city’s hotels and nightlife and right opposite New Zealand’s national museum, Te Papa Tongarewa. As home to most of New Zealand’s central government agencies, world-class educational and research institutes, this compact and connected city is proud to be known as one of the 21 places in the world that will epitomise the future of work.
