Geneva will host the 7th Global Humanitarian Aviation Conference & Exhibition (7th GHAC), 7-9 October, at the Hotel President Wilson. Presented by the World Food Programme (WFP), GHAC is a platform for humanitarian aviation service providers and agencies working in the field. The conference, which comes to Geneva for a second time, will address some of the challenges faced by humanitarian aviation in specific and aviation industry in general. The Geneva Convention Bureau told CMW GHAC is worth US$520,000 in economic benefit for the city. Previous host destinations for GHAC have included Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Jordan, Marrakech and Geneva. “The client was interested in Geneva because of the presence of international organisations. Since the conference was very successful in 2014, he decided to come back in 2015,” a bureau spokesperson told CMW. The bureau is also predicting 2016 will be a bigger year for conferencing than 2015.
