The Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau has announced that the Swiss Cancer Centre Lausanne (SCCL) will host the 2016 ISREC Inaugural Symposium from 7–10 September in the city. The four-day ‘Horizons of Cancer Biology and Therapy’ event will welcome 500 delegates from around the world to the University Hospital Campus of the SCCL. The event will provide a platform for leading cancer scientists to discuss the hallmarks of cancer, with a focus on tumour immunology and mechanism-guided therapies. The convention bureau will support the conference by providing a number of operational services including the management of accommodation for the symposium. Gérald Howard, business development manager at the bureau, said his organisation was “delighted” to be hosting the Inaugural Symposium. “The Swiss Cancer Centre offers the perfect context and infrastructure for the event and we hope that all the delegates enjoy the hospitality and cultural attractions of the city during their visit.” Lausanne hosts over 30 multinational HQs, including: Nestlé/Nespresso, FERRING Pharma, Nissan International, Adecco, Cisco, Logitech (IT accessories) and Philip Morris. The city is also the home of over 50 international sports federations.
