Polish market increasing in significance, says NürnbergMesse

NürnbergMesse has singled out Poland’s economy as a key growth market within the EU. Poland ranked among the top 10 trade-visitor countries in Nuremberg, scoring particularly high with the processing and packaging markets as well as building and construction. Poland’s economy was praised by the organisation, which regards it as one of the central growth markets within the European Union. “In particular, also when it comes to the trade fairs and exhibitions in Nuremberg, Poland has featured consistently among the top 10 rankings for countries with the most trade visitors. With our focus on international trade fairs as well as on sectors, which are of particular interest to the Polish market, in Nuremberg we are offering an outstanding platform for Polish companies who would like to open up the German market,” said Peter Ottmann, CEO NürnbergMesse, at a press conference held today in Warsaw. 25 years after the governments of both countries signed the German-Polish Treaty of Good Neighbourship in Bonn, the two nations have become more economically entwined. Some 27% of Polish exports go to Germany, while 23% of Polish imports come from their neighbouring country in the West. NürnbergMesse is also benefiting from this trend with more than 7,200 trade visitors from Poland registered by the company in 2015. In 2014 with its stronger concentration of fairs and exhibitions due to event cycles, the total was at around 9,400. “Particularly for Polish companies our event portfolio offers highly attractive market opportunities, Nuremberg is centrally located and our exhibition centre has an outstanding infrastructure”, said the NürnbergMesse CEO highlighting the advantages for companies from Germany’s neighbouring country.
