The global IP community is set to converge in Shanghai next month as business leaders from across Asia and the West come together for the fourth annual IPBC Asia. Taking place from 4-6 December at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Shanghai, Pudong, China, IPBC Asia will host the Chinese patent market, which has developed rapidly with foreign companies and investors increasingly showing interest in buying Chinese patents. “China has become a key pillar of the global IP market over the last few years”, said Jacob Schindler, IAM’s Asia editor. “Recent developments here in licensing and litigation show that this is no longer a jurisdiction that any major patent owner can afford to ignore.” With simultaneous Chinese-English translation, the two-day conference programme will explore the most important issues facing the IP community today. spectacula Particular focus is attached to the networking aspect of the event, which includes a rooftop welcome reception on the 58th floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and the glitzy IP Asia Elite gala dinner, which will honour the region’s IP value creation leaders.
