The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio, Tuscany, has temporarily downgraded to a four-star hotel as it aims to meet the meeting and event needs of the pharmaceutical industry.
The hotel is a popular venue for corporate events and has many conference rooms.
The step down to four-star status at the hotel took effect 1 October and will last until 14 June, 2017.
The measure concerns a limited number of services and management claims it will not affect the quality of hospitality, but aimed solely to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical companies who are reticent in selecting ‘luxury’ hotels as venues for their events.
The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and its new ‘central room’ can accommodate up to 250 people.
