Legends Global has signed an exclusive, long-term deal with Vingroup to run VinFast – Trong Dong Stadium in Hanoi, ahead of the venue’s opening on 31 July 2027.

The stadium is planned to hold 135,000 people, which Vingroup says will make it the largest in the world by capacity.

Legends Global will take charge of the day-to-day running of the site, from the facilities themselves to suppliers and on-site services, and will help Vingroup bring international sport, music and cultural events to Hanoi. It will also train Vingroup’s own venue staff in Vietnam, drawing on a portfolio of more than 450 venues worldwide that it says welcomes over 165 million guests a year.

Paul Sergeant OBE, a stadium specialist at Legends Global, has already relocated to Hanoi to lead technical and pre-opening work, and recruitment for the stadium’s operations team is now underway.

Nguyen Viet Quang, vice chairman and CEO of Vingroup, said: “VinFast – Trong Dong Stadium is far more than a sporting venue. With its world-leading scale, contemporary architecture inspired by Vietnamese cultural heritage, automated retractable roof, and playing surface designed to meet FIFA standards, we envision working alongside Legends Global to transform the stadium into a global gathering place for the finest sporting, cultural, and entertainment events.”

Dan Levy, CEO of Legends Global, added: “VinFast – Trong Dong Stadium is an extraordinary project for Vietnam, one that will help position Hanoi at the forefront of the global live events industry.”

Peter Loxton, chief operating officer for Asia Pacific and Middle East at Legends Global, said: “Our long-term exclusive partnership with Vingroup allows Legends Global to combine global expertise with local talent to strengthen Vietnam’s venue management capabilities.”

The stadium’s design takes its cues from two ancient Vietnamese symbols: the Dong Son bronze drum and the mythical Lac bird. Alongside the retractable roof, the venue will have real-time security and crowd-flow monitoring built in from day one.

It sits at the centre of the Hung Vuong International Sports Complex, which will include training pitches and other sports facilities, as well as hotels, theatres and shopping centres for visiting athletes and fans.
